Final report before finals!

We are currently in the midst of exams, final papers and presentations in the next two weeks before the end of winter quarter. Among this whirlwind, we have plenty of other activities to report on!

This past weekend, five Scholars danced for 30 straight hours in the Northwestern University Dance Marathon. After a year of fundraising and the marathon, NUDM raised $1,253,596.00 for GiGi's Playhouse, Inc. and Evanston Community Foundation. Our dancing team, which included the Scholars and two other student groups, won the Most Engaged Fundraising Award. We are so proud and humbled by their efforts.

A number of Scholars will be pursuing internships in Chicago next quarter as part of the Chicago Field Studies Program. From the Shedd Aquarium to the corporate office, our Scholars continue to develop personally and professionally in many areas.

In terms of community, we are keeping up traditions new and old. Our intramural basketball team made it to the playoff round. We are looking forward to new IM sports in the spring quarter, including softball and soccer. Furthermore, thanks to the idea of our wonderful Graduate Resident Assistant, we have started a tradition of Monday Funday, where Scholars, advisors and families bring by snacks on Monday nights.

We wish everyone success on their exams and a fun and safe spring break!
